The body fat scale feels sturdy and well made. The bottom is plastic but it does not seem to be a cheap type of plastic. The top is glass or very hard, solid plastic with no give in the surface when you step on it. The scale itself thin and has a nice profile.

The base is large,which gives a sturdy not shakey feeling when in use.The instructions were very easy and the box even included the 2 required batteries.
